This means that you need to add to or make changes to the pre-existing unit with the aim of improving Literacy and Numeracy opportunities for a diversity of students within a classroom context in your subject (KLA) area.
- First, you will need to find a pre-existing teaching unit from your KLA area (keep a copy of the link for submission).
- Then, think about a classroom context with a diversity of students with whom you could teach this unit. You will need to describe the diversity within the classroom context, as well as ensure that you are explicit about how (in what ways) you are valuing the diversity of your students in the classroom you envision. This aspect of the task also links to the recommended modifications.
- Then, review the unit and use the Four Resources model with the aim to explicitly identify the resources (foci) taught in the unit AND the way the identified aspect of the Four Resources model addresses Literacy and Numeracy development.
- Then describe the strategies, including modifications or resources used to enhance the (foci) for Literacy and Numeracy development, within the classroom diversity you envision.
