In 2018, Gwen really got into Parkour, a dynamic sport where participants move rapidly through obstacles. She found a wonderful parkour gym in Vancouver, Motions Gym Co. (Motions), where she became a member and took weekly training sessions. In November of 2019, Gwen’s instructor and the manager at Motions, Daiyu, encouraged her to sign up for the parkour world championship, run by World Parkour Co (WPC). It was scheduled to be held in Budapest in June of 2020. Gwen was excited and told Daiyu that she wanted to sign up. Daiyu told her that he could do the registration for her along with a few other members who would also be attending. To sign up, WPC required that each participant be a member of an accredited parkour gym, which Motions was. The following day, Gwen transferred the competition fee of $2,500 to Daiyu and Daiyu signed up Gwen and the other members.
